A break in the weather is allowing the greenkeepers to carry out essential maintenance work to the greens. First of all they are being solid tined with a 13mm tine to a depth of 225mm to help relieve compaction and help with drainage. They are then hollow cored with 13mm tines to a depth of 75mm to remove organic matter. Once the debris is cleaned up they will be top dressed with kiln dried sand to fill the holes. They will then be rolled to smooth them out again. While these works are being carried out you may need to play to a winter green, we apologise for the inconvenience.
